Prince Edward County is a small almost-island half-way between Toronto and Ottawa. It has always been known for terrific beaches, sailing and fishing but is now becoming a centre for artists, high cuisine and winemaking too. Surrounded by the fresh water of Lake Ontario, Prince Edward County enjoys wide clean beaches on its 800km of shoreline and a milder, lake-influenced climate that has led to the development of almost fifty vineyards and a dozen wineries. Complementing this attractive setting are many fine restaurants, inns and B&Bs.
