OLD SLYS LOCKSTATION In 1798 a settler by the name of William Sly arrived in the area. By 1824 he had built a substantial barn and house on the north side of the river near to where the lock was to be constructed. The contractor for this site was Bell Richardson & Co. A defensible stone lockmaster's house was built here in 1838. Lockstation services: parking, charts and permit sales, on-site identification, picnic areas, day use docking, boater camping and overnight mooring. Fishing and boat watching are here.
