Discover legends, lore and life in the 1000 Islands at the Arthur Child Heritage Centre of the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River next to the Gananoque Boat Line. Exhibits illuminate natural and cultural histroy of the 1000 Islands. New exhibits reveal derring-do exploits of "Pirate" Bill Johnston and "Heroine" Elizabeth Barnett who saved Gananoque during the Patriot's War. A new exhibit for 2004 tells the stories of three vessels bearing the town's name, a unique aspect of maritime history.
