For 50 years, conservation authorities in the Quinte region have been working to improve the health of local watersheds. Forests now stand where there was only blow sand in the 1940s. Conservation areas offer public access to unique local lands and water. Flood forecasting and floodplain management reduce the threat that flooding poses to people and their property. Educational programs offer a new appreciation for things wild and the opportunity for our youth to grow into the environmentally conscientious citizens of tomorrow. Quinte Conservation is a working agreement of three local conservation authorities in eastern Ontario: Moira River, Napanee Region and Prince Edward Region. We work with landowners, businesses, community organizations and all levels of government. In particular, Quinte Conservation provides important conservation advisory services to local municipalities.
