The O'Hara Mill and homestead is located on 84 acres of conservation land, owned by Quinte Conservation, and contains eight historic buildings, five of them original structures. The house was built in 1848 and with its original furniture and other artifacts, illustrates the evolution of a pioneer homestead from its more primitive stages to the elegance of late Victorian Canada. The main focus is the building complex comprising the original O'Hara upright saw mill, the O'Hara house, carpentry shop and carriage house. A school house, blacksmith shop and machinery sheds have been added to the network of buildings. The O'Hara Mill depicts 100 years in the domestic and agricultural life of the O'Hara Family, dating back to the mid 1800s.
