Discover history in one of Eastern Ontario's oldest counties at the region's historical and genealogical research centre, located in an 1864 limestone structure, the former County Jailhouse. The Museum holds clues to over 210 years of fascinating local history. It tells the story of the old muncipalities of Adolphustown, Amherst Island, Bath, Camden, Denbigh, Ernestown, Fredericksburgh, Kaladar, Napanee, Newburgh, Richmond, Sheffield. Artifacts and archives relevant to the ongoing settlement and development of the county area, from the 18th century to present. Activities include: Victorian Memories tours, groups of 20 or more includes tour of Courthouse, County Museum, Macpherson House and buffet lunch. Occasional lectures, workshops for public and schools, and publishing of local history topics.
