Operated by the East Durham Historical Society, the Museum is a picturesque frame cottage-style structure built in the late 1800's. The house has been restored to resemble a working man's cottage of that period. Of special note are various pieces of furniture which have remained from previous owners, some of which were made by local craftsmen. In addition the East Durham Historical Society displays many local artifacts donated to the Society by area residents. A period barn and drive shed constructed from the remnants of three structures are also on the property. These house agricultural and craftsman tools and are the sites of continuing restoration projects at the museum. A picturesque garden and yard compliment the house and a nature trail winds its way back through the Ganaraska Conservation Park.
