Our school seeks to pass on the skills and philosophies that directly connect individuals to nature and the wilderness, it offers a variety of courses that mix theory, storytelling, philosophy and hands-on experience and teaches techniques of nature observation, animal sign recognition, tracking and wilderness survival/living skills. Our staff have a good knowledge of the area and connecting trails. An abandoned rail-road line [K & P (Kingston to Pembroke] that has been converted into an recreation trail is close to our location and offers gentle terrain for bicycling and nature observation. Other scenic byways are close at hand as are numerous out-of-the-way picturesque lakes and streams, many of which are known for excellent fishing. Diverse Staff background also allows us to offer a wide range of individually, tailored recreation outings, trips or workshops. This includes bicycle touring, mountain biking, kayaking instruction, and all the activities mentioned in our courses. Those who are first time visitors to this part of the province may want to utilize our property as a vacation trailhead to explore the various historic sites and tourist attractions of the area, including a visit to our national capital.
