Surrounding one of the world's greatest sights is a lush farmland filled with vineyards, orchards and theatres!
The peninsula formed by Lake Ontario and Lake Erie and the Niagara River has one of the mildest climates in Canada. As a result, the landscape is overflowing with fruit farms and vineyards. The area is one of Canada's top wine-producing regions, including the Niagara speciality of ice wine - harvested in December or January. Many of the larger vineyards and wineries in the area offer fine cuisine or live music to attract travellers to their estate tours.
