Frontenac County and the City of Kingston

Frontenac County is an area with a wildly divergent landscape. In the south, the busy, bustling city of Kingston lies at one end of Lake Ontario, and also at the end of the world-renowned Rideau Canal. The city is a very popular starting point for travellers visiting the 1000 Islands to the east, the Land O' Lakes region to the west or the North Frontenac Parklands - 184 secluded but not quite remote campsites to the north.

Hiking in Frontenac Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada.Well known Provincial Parks like Bon Echo Provincial Park, Frontenac Provincial Park and Sharbot Lake Provincial Park welcome thousands of campers and visitors each year.

Kingston itself was the first capital of Canada, and has stayed a vibrant city and is the largest port in the 1000 Island region. Visitors enjoy the historic Fort Henry, the Ferry to Wolfe Island, and the many shopping and dining experiences available in the cobbled streets of the downtown core.
