The Kawartha Lakes extend east from Lake Simcoe into Peterborough County, including the communities of Bobcaygeon, Omemee and Lindsay. Travelling through the heart of this region is the Trent-Severn Waterway, a canal system connecting Lake Ontario with Lake Huron and Georgian Bay - used exclusively for pleasure boats. There are 44 locks including a Marine Railway, the system is over 380km long. The area is dotted with inns, hotels and B&Bs for those who wish to explore the scenery and enjoy outdoor activities.
The Kawartha region is also an ideal location for winter sports: skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and skating!
